Getting Started with Tinybots
This is the teaching material we recommend reading first. It explains how Tinybots differ from ordinary chatbots, how to prepare an activity and how to run a lesson with them. It includes a ready-made plan for an introductory lesson, divided into Engage, Understand and Reflect phases – plus a prompt for an "icebreaker" Tinybot and suggested rules for working with AI in the classroom.
What it's good for
- A class's first encounter with Tinybots, in any subject
- Agreeing together on rules for using AI in lessons and for homework
- Situations where students tend to try to "break" or troll the chatbot – the material expects this and works with it

To make them easier to navigate, we’ve grouped the Tinybots into categories based on the revised Bloom’s taxonomy. The flower diagram shows the cognitive levels, named at the bottom of the image, with the individual Tinybots branching out from them at the top. The categories help Tiny set the right learning goals and assessment criteria, which we then use to give you and your students feedback on each conversation.
